Meet the Spartans: Kelsey Mazur

The Michigan State gymnastics team will feature the student-athletes this season in attempt for fans to "Meet the Spartans". This week junior Kelsey Mazur (LaGrange, Ill.) sat down with msuspartans.com to answer questions about her experience so far at MSU and her favorite things.
Name: Kelsey Mazur
Nickname and why: Mazur (some people like to call me this and also there are now 2 Kelsey's on the team!)
Year in School: Junior
Hometown: LaGrange, Illinois
Major: Nutritional Science
Best thing about being at MSU: The Big Ten athletic competition and the school spirit are hard to beat. Also, I am just obsessed with the campus.
Favorite movie: Remember the Titans
Favorite food: Guacamole, mmmm
Favorite restaurant: PF Chang's
Special talent: I don't think I have one…hmmm
Siblings: 1 sister (Sarah, 18) and 1 brother (John, 15)
What do you want to be when you grow up: I want to be a Physician's Assistant
Most exotic place you have traveled to: Paris
Dream vacation spot: Greece, Spain, or Australia
Favorite musician or band: Coldplay
Song that gets you pumped up before a meet: Any rap, hip hop, or upbeat song!!
Reason you picked MSU: It's a great Big Ten school athletically and academically, and it isn't too far from home! It was the perfect fit.
Favorite celebrity: Blake Lively
Favorite thing to do besides do gymnastics: Hang out with my friends and relax
Favorite store to shop: Urban Outfitters
If you were not doing gymnastics, what other sport would you be involved with: Soccer... the rest of my family plays it!
Favorite spot on campus: Spartan Stadium. You can't help but get the chills every time you walk into the stadium and feel the intense, exhilarating atmosphere
Favorite competition at MSU: I think senior night my freshman year against Alaska. We had a magical meet and Kathryn Mahoney got to walk around with us via Skype!
Pre-game ritual: Listen to lots of pump up music and keep the energy up! I don't have any superstitions or anything…just positive thinking!!
