Women's Tennis Travels to Florida

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State women's tennis will compete at Florida Atlantic on Wed., March 6, at 1 p.m. and at Florida International on Thurs., March 7, at 12 p.m.
Michigan State currently owns an 8-3 record on the season; only falling to No. 14 Michigan, No. 71 DePaul, and Louisville who recently has entered the ITA rankings. Last week, the Wolverines swept the Spartans, 7-0, in Ann Arbor.
Leading the Spartans in singles matches at the top spot is junior Marina Bohrer with a 9-2 record. Freshman Emily Meyers is 8-3 after seeing action on courts four, five and six. At the second slot, Catherine Parenteau holds a 7-4 record.
In doubles play, Bohrer and Parenteau are 6-3 at the No. 1 spot, while Meyers and Julianne Gruber are 6-2. Meyers and Gruber have picked up wins at all three spots.
Florida Atlantic
The Owls are 6-4 on the season after blanking South Dakota, 7-0, Monday.
Catalina Ene and Marlene Ryan have shared time on courts one and two recording records of 6-2 and 6-4 respectively. Following Ene and Ryan on court three is Natasha Basma with a 5-5 record.
Stephanie Cardullo and Ryan lead FAU on doubles at the No. 2 spot with a 4-2 record.
Florida International
Florida International will enter the weekend 2-6, most recently picking up back-to-back 5-2 wins against Arkansas State and St. John's.
Carlotta Orlando leads the Panthers in singles play, 5-2, with appearances at the top three spots. FIU's Giulietta Boha, Rita Maisak and Aleksand Trifunoiv are all 3-5 on the season.
Picking up a 4-3 record on court one in doubles matches are Maisak and Trifunovic. Orlando and Boha are 3-4 at the No. 2 spot.
Next Up
Michigan State will compete in the Blue-Gray Tournament in Montgomery, Ala., March 15-17.
