No. 19 Men's Soccer to Battle Badgers Saturday

EAST LANSING, Mich. - The No. 19 Michigan State men's soccer team will take on Wisconsin for a conference matchup at home on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 2 p.m., celebrating Camper Appreciation Day. The Spartans currently own a 6-2-2 record this season with a conference record of 1-1-1.
Last Time Out
MSU tallied their eighth shutout of the season over Akron on Tuesday. Junior goalkeeper Zach Bennett now has sole possession of the all-time career saves record with 24, surpassing his previous shared record of 23 with John Spink (1984, 1986-88) and Avery Steinlage (2008-10). Junior midfielder Jason Stacy scored his second goal of the season in the 1-0 victory over the Zips in the 35th minute from senior forward Adam Montague.
In the Polls
Michigan State is ranked 19th in the NSCAA Coaches Poll. The Spartans also hold the No. 19 rank in the College Soccer News Top 30. Bennett ranks fourth in the nation in goals against average (0.38) and 16th in save percentage (0.86). The team shutout percentage (0.80) ranks third.
Michigan State is sixth in the Big Ten rankings with a conference record of 1-1-1. Jason Stacy is tied for fourth in the conference in assists (3) and tied for third in game-winning goals (2). Bennett is tied for first in shutouts (8) in the conference.
Scouting Wisconsin
Wisconsin is 2-7-1 on the season and 0-3-0 in the conference, heading to East Lansing following a 1-0 victory over Green Bay. Under head coach John Trask, freshman forward Mark Segbers leads the team in scoring with 10 points from four goals and two assists, followed by freshman forward Tom Barlow (3-3-9) and senior midfielder Jacob Brindle (2-1-5). Wisconsin leads the all-time series 22-11-4, with a 7-5-2 record when playing in East Lansing.

The Spartans will take on Western Michigan next week on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 4 p.m. at DeMartin Stadium in East Lansing.
