Women's Basketball Honored with Big Ten Championship Rings

Oct. 6, 2014 EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State's women's basketball team was honored with its 2014 Big Ten Championship rings at the MSU football game against Nebraska on Oct. 4. The team saw the rings for the first time when they were unveiled after the first quarter and presented to the team by President Lou Anna K. Simon and Athletics Director Mark Hollis.

The 2013-14 team finished the season 23-10 overall and tied for the Big Ten title with Penn State with matching 13-3 records. The Spartans advanced to their sixth-straight NCAA Tournament, advancing to the second round.

Michigan State officially begins the 2014-15 season with its first official practice on Wednesday, Oct. 8. The Spartans bring back three starters, including first-team All-Big Ten selection Aerial Powers, who was the first MSU freshman to earn first-team honors.

MSU hits the court for its first exhibition on Sunday, Nov. 9 against Grand Valley at 4 p.m. The regular season begins at home against Eastern Michigan on Sunday, Nov. 16.
