East Lansing, Mich. - - As expected, the long-lasting effects of one of the worst winters on record are altering the start of the softball season at Michigan State.
The Spartans were scheduled to start the season at Secchia Stadium on Tuesday, March 25 against Western Michigan. However, that game has been cancelled, as field conditions will not be playable.
MSU has already moved its Big Ten-opening games this weekend at Ohio State. Originally scheduled to be played over three days, the Spartans and Buckeyes will now play on Friday at 4 p.m. and a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 1 p.m.
