Michigan State leads the all-time series against Wyoming, 3-0, with all three games played in East Lansing.
Michigan State improved its record to 65-31-3 (.672) in 99 Homecoming games. The Spartans have won seven of their last eight Homecoming games. Wyoming became the Spartans' first non-conference Homecoming opponent since Penn State in 1952, and Saturday marked only the second time MSU played its Homecoming game in the month of September (Sept. 30, 2006, against Illinois).
Michigan State has compiled a 51-19 record (.729) in games played against non-conference opponents since 1999. Mark Dantonio is 28-11 (.718) against non-conference opponents, including a 22-2 record (.917) in Spartan Stadium. Overall, the Spartans have won 34 of their last 46 non-league games (.739).
Michigan State improved its record to 9-2 (.818) against current members of the Mountain West Conference (1-0 vs. Boise State, 0-1 vs. Colorado State, 1-0 vs. Fresno State, 4-1 vs. Hawaii and 3-0 vs. Wyoming).
Michigan State has won 18 of its last 20 games, dating back to the 2012 regular-season finale against Minnesota. Since 2010, the Spartans have won 45 of their last 58 games.
The Spartans have scored 201 points (50.2 avg.) through their first four games, the highest total through four games in school history (previous record: 196 in 2005). MSU has scored 174 in its three home games (58.0 ppg.). In addition, it marks the first time MSU has scored 50 points in back-to-back games since 1978 (Oct. 28 vs. Wisconsin, 55-2; Nov. 4 vs. Illinois, 59-19).
Michigan State has scored at least 45 points in three consecutive home games for the first time since 1951-52 (Nov. 24, 1951 vs. Colorado, 45 points; Oct. 11, 1952 vs. Texas A&M, 48 points; Oct. 18, 1952 vs. Syracuse, 48 points).
Michigan State held Wyoming to 98 yards rushing on 27 attempts. In the Dantonio era, MSU has held its opponents below 100 yards rushing in 48 of 97 games (49 percent), including 28 times since 2011.
Michigan State improved its record to 41-11 (.788) in home games under Mark Dantonio, including its current 10-game winning streak. The Spartans have won 26 of their last 31 home games.
The Spartan defense shut out Wyoming in the second half while limiting the Cowboys to four first downs, 28 rushing yards on 14 carries, 51 passing yards and 79 total yards (23 totals). Wyoming went 1-for-5 on third downs in the second half.
Michigan State recorded a season-high six sacks (43 yards) against Wyoming. The Spartans also matched their season-high with seven tackles for loss (46 yards).
Michigan State scored 14 points off of Wyoming's three turnovers (two fumbles and one interception).
Michigan State scored touchdowns on its first six possessions en route to a 42-14 halftime lead.
Michigan State held a 35:31-24:29 advantage in time of possession. Under Mark Dantonio, the Spartans are 50-9 (.847) when leading in time of possession.
Michigan State rushed 52 times for 338 yards and five touchdowns against Wyoming. In last week's 73-14 victory over Eastern Michigan, the Spartans carried 60 times for 336 yards and seven TDs. It marks the first time MSU has recorded back-to-back 300-yard rushing games since 2004 (52 rushes for 324 yards and 3 TDs vs. Minnesota; and 57 carries for 368 yards and 4 TDs at Michigan).
Fifth-year senior tailback Jeremy Langford recorded his first 100-yard rushing game of the season and ninth of his career, with 16 carries for 137 yards and a touchdown. Langford gained 36 yards on the first play from scrimmage and scored on a 29-yard run around right end with 4:02 left in the third quarter. With his 137 yards, he moved into 20th place on MSU's all-time rushing list with 1,785 career yards. With 21 career rushing TDs, Langford tied Steve Smith (1977-80) and Charlie Baggett (1973-75) for 14th place on the Spartans' all-time list.
Fifth-year senior Tony Lippett had four receptions for 76 yards and a touchdown - all in the first half. Lippett has recorded a touchdown reception in each of his last six games.
Fifth-year senior Keith Mumphery scored multiple touchdowns in a game for the first time in his career. Mumphery scored the first rushing TD on his career with a 33-yard run late in the first quarter and had a 6-yard TD reception from Tyler O'Connor in the second quarter. He rushed three times for a career-best 46 yards.
Junior quarterback Connor Cook completed 8-of-12 passes for 126 yards and two touchdowns against Wyoming. Cook had TD throws of 19 yards to Tony Lippett and 19 yards to Josiah Price. He has thrown TD passes in each of his last 11 games (school record: 16 by Kirk Cousins and Drew Stanton).
Red-shirt freshman Damion Terry came off the bench to complete all six of his pass attempts for 56 yards. Terry accounted for 72 total yards, gaining 16 yards on three carries.
Sophomore quarterback Tyler O'Connor came off the bench to account for two scores, completing a 6-yard touchdown toss to Keith Mumphery in the second quarter and scrambling 12 yards for a TD in the fourth quarter.
Junior linebacker Darien Harris produced a career-high seven tackles, forced a fumble and recovered another fumble against Wyoming.
Fifth-year senior free safety Kurtis Drummond recorded six tackles and an interception against Wyoming. It marked Drummond's 10th career interception, moving him into a tie for 11th place on MSU's all-time list.
True freshman linebacker Chris Frey made a career-high five tackles against Wyoming.
Junior Shilique Calhoun blocked a 42-yard field-goal attempt by Wyoming's Stuart Williams in the second quarter. It marked MSU's first blocked field goal since Anthony Rashad White blocked Georgia's Blair Walsh's 47-yard attempt in the third overtime of the 2012 Outback Bowl that sealed a win over the Bulldogs.
