Los Angeles, Calif. - The Michigan State baseball team lost 14-2 on Friday night to No. 7 UCLA. The Bruins scored six runs in the bottom half of the second after the Spartans took a 2-0 lead to start the inning on a Chad Roskelly homerun to left.
UCLA continued to control the game from there, scoring 14 unanswered runs to separate from MSU and earn their eighth victory of the season.
Roskelly went 2-for-3 in the game with two RBIs and he is now six for his last eight with three runs scored.
Mick VanVossen earned the decision for the Spartans, falling to 0-2 on the year, while Bruin pitcher James Kaprielian got the win to improve to 3-0 on the year.
Michigan State returns to action tomorrow at noon eastern vs. the No. 7 Bruins.
