• Michigan State fell to Michigan, 32-23, on Saturday in Spartan Stadium . . . it marked just the second time in the last nine meetings that MSU has lost to Michigan . . . MSU head coach Mark Dantonio is 7-3 against Michigan in his 10-year tenure; he's still the winningest coach in MSU history (.700) in terms of winning percentage against the Wolverines.
• Dantonio is 4-2 against Michigan in Spartan Stadium; the Wolverines snapped MSU's school-record four-game winning streak over UM in East Lansing; it marked Michigan's first win in Spartan Stadium since 2007.
• Michigan leads the all-time series, 69-35-5, including a 20-14-2 record in East Lansing . . . in Big Ten games, Michigan leads 36-26-2.
• Sophomore LJ Scott rushed for a season-high 139 yards and tied a career high with 22 carries . . . Scott became the first 100-yard rusher against Michigan in 2016.
• For the second straight game, Michigan State rushed for more than 200 yards, collecting 217 yards on 42 carries . . . Michigan entered the game fourth in the nation in rushing defense, allowing just 96 yards per game on the ground . . . for just the fifth time in the past 47 games, the team with the most rushing yards did not win the game (MSU: 217 rushing yards; Michigan: 192).
• Michigan State recorded 401 yards of total offense, the most by a Michigan opponent this season (previous high: 331, Central Florida) . . . Michigan entered the game No. 1 in the nation on defense, allowing just 207 yards per game.
• Michigan entered the game only allowing six trips into the red zone all season; MSU had six trips into the red zone, but only scored three times on those six trips.
• Josiah Price had three catches for 29 yards . . . he moved into third all-time at MSU among tight ends with 86 career receptions.
• Michael Geiger made a career-high 52-yard field goal in the second quarter (previous career high: 49 vs. Iowa in 2013).
• Riley Bullough led MSU with a season-high 14 tackles.
• Chris Frey recorded nine tackles, marking his fifth straight game with at least seven tackles . . . he became the fifth active Spartan with 100 career tackles.
