Michigan State had its nine-game home winning streak snapped by falling to No. 11 Wisconsin, 30-6 . . . it marked MSU's first home loss since Nov. 8, 2014 (Ohio State) . . . MSU head coach Mark Dantonio is now 4-4 vs. Wisconsin in his tenure in East Lansing (3-1 in Spartan Stadium) . . . it marked MSU's first home loss to Wisconsin since 2002 . . . MSU leads the all-time series 30-23 (16-8 in East Lansing).
Michigan State was minus-2 in the turnover department. The Spartans committed four turnovers (three interceptions, one fumble) for the first time since 2012 (Nov. 23, 2012 vs. Northwestern), which led to 13 Wisconsin points. MSU had one forced fumble by Raequan Williams and one interception by Darian Hicks. The Spartans also dropped a punt on their own 5-yard line, and Wisconsin scored on a 5-yard touchdown run the next play to make it 30-6.
Michigan State outgained Wisconsin, 325-317, and had more first downs (21-15). The Spartans were limited to 75 yards rushing and had 250 yards passing.
Josiah Price tied his career high with five catches for 58 yards.
Monty Madaris tied his career high with five receptions for 49 yards.
Three defensive backs tallied career highs in tackles: safety Demetrious Cox (14), safety Montae Nicholson (10) and cornerback Vayante Copeland (8).
In his second career start, filling in for Riley Bullough, linebacker Shane Jones recorded a career-high six tackles and two tackles for loss (7 yards).
Michael Geiger connected on field goals of 48 yards and 40 yards in the first half . . .Geiger is now 43-of-60 in his career for field goals; his 43 field goals are ninth most in MSU history.
Wisconsin converted 7-of-16 on third-down conversions and 2-of-2 on fourth downs . . . the Spartans were 4-of-13 on third down and 0-of-2 on fourth downs.
