Michigan State Concludes Day One of Meyo Invitational

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State track and field completed the first day of the Meyo Invitational and recorded top marks in the first day of the invitational.
Junior Devin McKinney took eighth in the 60-meter hurdles and will advance to the finals with his time of 8.16. Redshirt freshman Matthew Thomas was the top Spartan finisher in the 5,000-meter finishing 22nd with a time of 14:41.89.
Redshirt sophomore Andrew O'Connor, redshirt junior Andrew Middleton, junior Daniel Kroth and redshirt sophomore Tommy Osika raced to a 10th place finish in the distance medley relay with a time of 10.19:98. Antonio Clark finished eighth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.70.
For the men's field events, in flight two of the weight throw finals redshirt junior Riley Norman took fifth.
The team of sophomore Dillion McClintock, redshirt freshman Annie Fuller, redshirt sophomore Julia Rustmann and redshirt freshman Jeralyn Poe took sixth in the finals of the distance medley relay. Sophomore Amber Way raced to a fifth-place finish, while junior Jessica Goethals was seventh in the 5,000-meter.
Senior Cierra Pryor finished 26th in the 200-meter dash on a time of 25.07.
Sophomore Autumn Robinson finished 17th in the finals of the long jump with her longest leap marking 5.59-meters. Senior Katelyn Daniels paced the way for the Spartans taking fourth in the finals of the weight throw with her longest throw being her third of 18.84-meters.
The 600-meter run rounded out the first day of the Meyo Invite and sophomore Taylor Mullins finished 21st with a time of 1:35.62, while redshirt sophomore Alec Waiter took 11th in the race on the men's side with a time of 1:20.53.
Michigan State closes out the Meyo Invite on Saturday, Feb. 4. Events will begin at 11 a.m.
