Burnham to Take Part in Volvik Championship Qualifying Event

EAST LANSING - Michigan State junior Sarah Burnham will compete for an exemption to play in the LPGA Volvik Championship by taking part in the Great Lakes Shootout at Travis Point Country Club on Tuesday in Ann Arbor.
The format for the Great Lakes Shootout will be nine holes of stroke play followed by a three-hole elimination competition for the one tournament exemption playing spot. The top four scores from the stroke play will advance to the hole-by-hole elimination on holes 16, 17 and 18.
Burnham will join former Spartan golfers and current Symetra Tour players Lindsey McPherson, Liz Nagel, Allyssa Ferrell and Christine Meier in the event.
Tuesday's competition will be conducted by officials from the Golf Association of Michigan (GAM).
The Volvik Championship will take place May 25-28 at Travis Point Country Club.
