ALUMNI DAY

PAC-12 x 2
Sunday marks the second time in seven days the Spartans face a team from the Pac-12 Conference after playing Washington last week.
Â
LAST TIME OUT
Freshman forward Camryn Evans scored her third and fourth goals of the season, while redshirt-junior goalkeeper Reilley Ott recorded her fifth shutout to lead Michigan State to a 2-0 win over Oakland Thursday at DeMartin Stadium.
Â
MSU broke through in the 22nd minute thanks to an aggressive run from Evans. Sophomore midfielder Bella Jodzis played a ball well in front, allowing Evans to run it down and make Oakland keeper Jaimie Leas come off her line. She finished by beating Leas to her left making it 1-0.
Â
Evans put away her second goal of the game in the 50th minute, rebounding her first shot off the crossbar with a blast to the net from 7-yards out before Leas could get back in position.
Â
SCOUTING THE BUFFALOES
Colorado has won four straight since a 0-0 2OT draw with Colorado State Aug. 19. The Buffs entered the week ranked No. 23 in the TopDrawerSoccer.com Poll and are receiving three votes in the United Soccer Coaches Poll. They beat Marquette, 2-1, Thursday.
Â
Junior forward Tatum Barton is third in the country with a 1.20 goals per game average, trailing just behind co-leaders Mimi Asom (Princeton) and Kelsey Yeager (Presbyterian) at 1.25 gpg.
Â
The only meeting between MSU and CU was in 2016 with the Spartans taking a 2-1 OT victory in Boulder.
Â
SAXTON SAYS
"Colorado will be the most athletic team we've played and that's saying something with what we saw at Washington. We're going to have to reduce our passing mistakes, and continue to play good defense. If we can stay in the game defensively, we'll get our chances and kinda like we did with Washington we'll have a chance to get a result, for sure."
