CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The Michigan State women's tennis team fell to Princeton, 4-2, on Saturday morning at ITA Kick-Off Weekend in Chapel Hill, N.C. The team is now 1-2 on the season.
"This loss definitely hurts because we had opportunities in both singles and doubles and couldn't get it done," MSU head coach Kim Bruno said. "We need to respond and play a more complete match tomorrow. I know we are capable of that."
Princeton was able to secure the doubles point with wins on courts two and three.
Senior Emily Metcalf and freshman Maja Pietrowicz started the match off with a win at first doubles over Nicole Kalhorn and Brianna Shvets, 6-1. Princeton then won the next two doubles matches to win the doubles point.

On court five, Joyce defeated Nguyen, 6-1, 6-3. Lemonds also fell to Schrage, 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1 singles.
