Women's Soccer Hosts No. 21 Rutgers for Senior Day on Sunday

MSU continues the homestand on Sunday against No. 21 Rutgers for Senior Day.
EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State women's soccer hosts No. 21 Rutgers on Sunday afternoon at DeMartin Stadium for Senior Day.

Michigan State currently sits at 8-8-1 on the season, with a 1-7-1 mark in Big Ten play.

Both games this week will be streamed online on BTN+.
SENIOR DAY
On Sunday, Michigan State women's soccer will honor the team's 12 seniors - Reilley Ott, Amy Krause, Michaela Kovacs, Kassidy Madrigal, Lydia Franks, Julia Crowe, Hannah Jones, Marta Gappy, Celia Oatis, Brittany Tanner, Sadie Misiewicz and Madison VanDyke - prior to the start of the game for Senior Day.
DOWN THE STRETCH
The Spartans continue the final four-game homestand to conclude the regular season this weekend.

Michigan State will close the season against Indiana at home on Wednesday, Oct. 30, in the regular season finale for both teams. The teams were originally scheduled to play on Sept. 27, but inclement weather caused the game to be postponed.

DEFENDING DEMARTIN
MSU boasts a home record of 6-3-0 this season, which marks the most wins at home since 2012 when the team had seven home wins.

The Spartans' last four games have been decided by just one goal.
FRESHMEN IN THE LINEUP
True freshmen Paige Webber and Bria Schrotenboer have earned starting positions in the Spartan lineup this season.

Webber is the only freshman to start in all 17 games this season and has 14 points with six goals and two assists to begin her rookie campaign.

Schrotenboer has started in 14 games on the Spartan backline this season and scored her first career goal against Michigan last weekend. The freshman missed three games at the beginning of the season to train with the U.S. U-20 Women's National Team in California.
SCOUTING THE SCARLET KNIGHTS
Michigan State is searching for its first win against the Scarlet Knights on Sunday as Rutgers leads the all-time series, 5-0.

Last season, MSU and a nationally ranked Rutgers team met in East Lansing on Oct. 18, which resulted in a 1-0 Scarlet Knight win in double overtime.

Rutgers has a record of 13-2-2 and a conference record of 7-2-1. The Scarlet Knights are ranked 21st in the nation.

The team is led by junior forwards Amirah Ali and Nneka Moneme. The pair have scored 16 of the teams 27 total goals and also account for 36 of the team's 75 total points (48 percent).
