Fifth-year senior defensive tackle earns accolade for second-straight season.
EAST LANSING, Mich. – For the second year in a row, Michigan State fifth-year senior defensive tackle Raequan Williams has earned first-team All-Big Ten honors from The Associated Press. The AP All-Big Ten team was voted on by 25 members of the media who cover Big Ten football.
Only the second three-time winner of MSU's Iron Man Award, Williams has started 41 consecutive games at defensive tackle, tied for the most in the Coach Mark Dantonio era (DE Shilique Calhoun, 2013-15). The 6-foot-4, 303-pounder from Chicago has 28.5 tackles for loss in his career, which ranks 19th most in school history, in addition to 11.5 sacks, 153 tackles, eight pass break-ups and three forced fumbles in 49 career games.
Williams has a career-high five sacks this season to go along with seven tackles for loss and 41 stops overall. He was a first-team AP All-Big Ten honoree as a junior in 2018 after recording career bests in tackles (53), tackles for loss (10.5) and pass break-ups (5).
Voted a captain by his teammates in 2019, Williams was also named the winner of the Clarence Underwood Jr. Sportsmanship Award at the team's banquet on Dec. 1.
