
John Lethemon Named Big Ten Second Star of the Week

EAST LANSING - Michigan State goaltender John Lethemon has been named Big Ten Second Star of the Week, the conference office announced on Tuesday. It's the third time this season and second consecutive week the senior goaltender has earned a conference weekly award.

Lethemon helped the Spartans to a series split with No. 16/15 Arizona State last weekend at Munn. He posted his fourth shutout of the season in Sunday's 1-0 overtime win, turning away 36 shots.
For the weekend, Lethemon posted a .931 save percentage and 58 saves over the two games.

On the season, Lethemon is tied for third in the nation and ranks first in the Big Ten in save percentage at .941. His 2.00 goals against average stands for second best in the Big Ten.

The Northville native's four shutouts this season is tied for first in the country and leads all Big Ten goaltenders.

The No. 18 Spartans return to action following the Christmas break at the GLI on Dec. 30 and 31 at Little Caesars Arena. MSU will begin the tournament against Michigan Tech on Dec. 30 at 1 p.m.
