Harris and Geer-Park Cap Season With the Final Round of the NCAA Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas – Michigan State golfers Haylin Harris and Allyson Geer-Park wrapped up the 2019 National Championships with the final round on Monday at the Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Harris turned in a 3-over-par 76 on Monday and finished her first national championship appearance at 12-over-par 231 (80-75-76), while Geer-Park shot a 10-over-par 83 to finish 17-over-par 236 (76-77-83).

The final places for both players have not yet been determined as nine players were unable to complete their round on Monday due to a weather stoppage earlier in the day. Those nine players will resume play at 7:45 a.m. ET Tuesday to complete the individual stroke play portion of the tournament.
UPDATE (Tuesday, 9:30 a.m.): With the third round now complete, Harris finished tied for 51st place, while Geer-Park tied for 79th.
Stroke play was shortened from 72 to 54 holes as a result of Saturday's weather-induced postponement. Arkansas' Maria Fassi carded a 5-under-par 68 on Monday and leads at 8-under-par 211.
In Monday's final round, Harris bogeyed the first hole, but then recorded eight straight pars and birdied the par-4, 264-yard ninth hole to make the turn at even par. She was 3-over-par on the back nine to finish 3-over-par 76.
Geer-Park started on the 10th hole and was 3-over-par at the turn. Her final nine holes were interrupted by a weather stoppage before finishing 10-over-par 83.
Harris and Geer-Park were the first Spartans to compete as individuals at the NCAA Championship since Sarah Burnham in 2016. It marked the 13th team or individual appearance by MSU at the national finals since 2000.
The top eight teams after the completion of the third round Tuesday morning move on to compete in match play over the next two days for the team national title.
