
Academic All-Big Ten Honors Announced for the 2019 Spring Season

EAST LANSING, Mich. --Â The Big Ten Conference announced the Academic All-Big Ten honorees for the 2019 spring sports season on Wednesday, May 29. In all, 120 MSU student-athletes were honored over Michigan State's nine spring sports. MSU led the conference with eight student-athletes posting a perfect 4.0 GPA.Â
Complete List of the 2019 Spring Academic All-Big Ten Selections
To be eligible for Academic All-Big Ten selection, students must be on a varsity team, as verified by being on the official squad list as of May 1 for winter sports, who have been enrolled fulltime at the institution for a minimum of 12 months and carry a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or higher. Men's track and field's John Gove, Luke Noah, Joseph Riordan, and Matthew Schram, rowing's Aleah Hahn and Allison Uckele, women's golf's Logan Otter, and women's tennis' Caroline Szabo were eight of the 30 Big Ten student-athletes honored with a 4.0 GPA.
The conference office will also present the Distinguished Scholar Award in July. Students eligible for the Distinguished Scholar Award must be a recipient of Academic All-Big Ten Recognition in the previous academic year, must have been enrolled fulltime at the institution for the entire previous academic year (two semesters or three quarters) and earned a minimum GPA of 3.70 or better during the previous academic year (excluding any summer grades). The Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award was established by conference Faculty Representatives as an addition to the conference's Academic All-Big Ten program.
