Football Media Day Central

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Reporters from around the state of Michigan gathered Monday inside the Izzo Family Media Center at Spartan Stadium for Michigan State Football Media Day.

MSU head coach Mark Dantonio began media day festivities with a press conference at the main podium to preview the upcoming 2019 season.

"I've been blessed to be here," said Dantonio, who is entering his 13th season as head coach of the Spartans. "I've been humbled to be here, and there's been a lot of great players here and a lot of great moments here. That's really why we've sort of adopted 'chase the moment' because we've had some great moments. We want those again. We want to chase those down and become part of that."

After Dantonio, reporters talked with defensive players and coaches, followed by the offensive staff and players.

In the morning, the Spartans held their fourth practice of preseason camp.

"(I) continue to be impressed with our student-athletes, our football players in terms of how they've handled things, the leadership, the way they've gone about their business on the field here in these four days," said Dantonio. "Getting guys as many reps as we can right now. They're working hard."

Michigan State returns to the practice field Tuesday morning for its fifth practice of preseason camp and its first in full pads.
