
Meet the Spartans: Easton Turner

EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State wrestling will feature a newcomer weekly throughout the preseason in order to "Meet the Spartans" leading up to the 2019-20 season. This week, freshman Easton Turner (Novi, Mich. / Detroit Catholic Central) sat down with msuspartans.com to answer some questions.
1. Why did you choose to wrestle at Michigan State?

Michigan State is my favorite school and it is close to home.

2. What are you most excited about as you begin your Spartan wrestling career?
Â
I am most excited about becoming a part of the family here at Michigan State.

3. When did you first start wrestling?
Â
I started wrestling at 8 years old.
Â
4. What is your favorite wrestling memory?
Â
My favorite wrestling memory was when I met Dan Gable (two-time National Champion at Iowa State and Olympic gold medalist).

5. What are you majoring in at Michigan State and why?
Â
I am majoring in kinesiology at Michigan State.

6. Who has taught you the most about wrestling growing up?
Â
Mike Krause has taught me the most about wrestling growing up.

7. If you were a superhero, what would be your power and what would be your name?
Â
My power would be teleportation and my name would be 'Mr. Everywhere'

8. What is your favorite meal?
Â
My favorite meal is a cheeseburger.

9. Favorite TV show?
Â
My favorite TV show is The Office.

10. Favorite thing to do besides wrestling?
I enjoy playing golf.
Prior to MSU:Â Turner was a two-time State champion and three-time placer at Detroit Catholic Central where he lettered all four years.
Personal:Â Born June 17, 2001...Son of Gary and Laura Turner....Plans to major in human biology...Father, Gary, played hockey at Lawrence Tech
