EAST LANSING, Mich. -- Michigan State wrestling announced its 2021 schedule with an abbreviated nine-match, Big Ten Conference only schedule, released by the league office Thursday afternoon.
Due to the delayed start of the season because of the COVID-19 pandemic, MSU will have nine matches on six dates, featuring one tri and one quad meet, along with four duals.
The Spartans will open the season on Saturday, Jan. 16, hosting a tri-meet with Minnesota and Maryland. MSU will then be on the road for its next three dates, beginning on Sunday, Jan. 24 at Penn State, then Friday, Jan. 29 at Ohio State. The road stretch wraps up with a quad meet hosted by Indiana, taking on the host Hoosiers, along with Nebraska and Rutgers.
Michigan State wraps up the abbreviated season with back-to-back home dual dates, hosting Purdue on Friday, Feb. 12, before the regular-season finale on Friday, Feb. 19, tangling with in-state rival Michigan.
The Big Ten will announce match times at a later date, following the selection of TV matches.
Further information about fan attendance, television/streaming and postseason dates will be announced at a later date on MSUSpartans.com.
