Tucker was hired on Wednesday, Feb. 12, as the 25th head football coach in Michigan State history, and since then, has been seemingly everywhere on campus.
After landing in Lansing on Wednesday afternoon, he attended the MSU Board of Trustees meeting at the Hannah Administration Building, where his hiring was unanimously approved. He then visited with the Spartan players at the Skandalaris Football Center before seeing Hall of Fame Coach Tom Izzo in his office at the Berkowitz Basketball Complex. He was officially introduced at a 6:30 p.m. press conference in the Izzo Hall of History at the Gilbert Pavilion in the Breslin Center.
In the midst of putting together a coaching staff and doing numerous media interviews in the next few days, Tucker dropped the ceremonial puck at Munn Ice Area on Friday night, visited with students and fans at ESPN College GameDay on Saturday morning, and spoke to a sold-out Breslin Center crowd on Saturday night at the men's basketball game.
Tucker also announced on Saturday that Mike Tressel and Ron Burton will be on the Spartan defensive staff. On Monday, he announced the hiring of Chris Kapilovic, who will serve as the offensive line coach and run game coordinator.
On Tuesday, Tucker wrapped up his first full week by attending Michigan State's offseason conditioning workout in the Duffy Daugherty Indoor Football Building.
