Spartans and Sycamores will play doubleheader Friday, single game Sunday.
EAST LANSING, Mich. -- This weekend's Michigan State baseball schedule at Indiana State has been altered by impending inclement weather in the Terre Haute, Indiana area. The Spartans and Sycamores will now play a doubleheader on Friday, March 13 starting at 1 p.m. ET.
Friday's second game of the doubleheader is slated to start approximately 45 minutes after the conclusion of game one. The intent is to play the series finale on Sunday, March 15 at 1 p.m. ET.
Michigan State is facing Indiana State for the second-straight season, after the Spartans and Sycamores squared off in a three-game series last year in East Lansing, with MSU winning two of three, including the inaugural night game at McLane Stadium at Kobs Field on April 5, 1-0 in 10 innings. Indiana State won game two, 2-1, on April 6, before Michigan State won the series with a 6-0 shutout on April 7. The Spartans lead the all-time series, 3-1, as prior to last season, the only other meeting between MSU and ISU was on Feb. 28, 1999 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, with Michigan State winning, 14-9.Â
