Men's Tennis Set to Host ITA Regionals

EAST LANSING, Mich. –Michigan State men's tennis is set to host the ITA Midwest Regional Championship starting tomorrow on campus. The tournament is scheduled for Oct. 21-25 with matches being played at the MSU Indoor Tennis Facility and the Michigan Athletic Club.
The Spartans have a packed slate of players competing in the tournament and are welcoming 16 teams from the Midwest region to East Lansing for the Championship. Winners of the finals in the main draw of singles and doubles play will qualify for the ITA Championships in San Diego, California next month.
"We are excited to be hosting ITA Regionals this year," head coach Gene Orlando said. "We will have the best players in the Midwest and some of the best players in the country vying for the berth to the National Fall Championships. This is a phenomenal team event to host at home and a great opportunity for our players to compete against the best of the Midwest on our home turf."
Michigan State is coming off an impressive showing at the Western Michigan Invite on Oct. 9. The Spartans went undefeated in doubles play at the tournament and picked up a pair of wins courtesy of Reed Crocker in the main draw of singles competition.
