East Lansing, Mich. - Max Sheldon of the Michigan State men's tennis team wrapped up competition Sunday at the ITA Midwest Regionals in East Lansing.
Sheldon faced No. 3 James Trotter of Ohio State in the quarterfinals of the main singles draw. He found himself up against Trotter after victories in his first two singles matches, including a win in straight sets in the round of 32. The pair battled to a 6-2, 6-3 final in Trotter's favor.
"It was a great tournament run this weekend for Max and overall a great one for our team," head coach Gene Orlando said. "We had the opportunity to play a lot of matches against great competition all weekend. I really like the growth we made as a team these past four days. You grow the most when you're in the fire of competition- especially tough competition!"
