
Men’s Basketball Plays Loyola Chicago in Battle 4 Atlantis Opener on Wednesday

Paradise Island, Bahamas. – Michigan State's men's basketball team traveled to the Bahamas on Monday to play in the Battle 4 Atlantis, starting on Wednesday, Nov. 24 against Loyola Chicago (noon, ESPN).
For the Spartans, this will mark the fourth different location in the first five games of the season, having already played games in New York City, Indianapolis and Michigan.
The game will air live on ESPN, with Eric Frede and Carolyn Peck calling all of the action. The TCF Bank Spartan Media Network radio call can be heard on one of 38 affiliates and on the web at MSUSpartans.com, with Will Tieman handling the play-by-play and Matt Steigenga serving as the color analyst. The game can also be heard on XM 372 and Channel 372 on the Sirius XM app.

- Senior forward Marcus Bingham Jr. scored a career-high 19 points and had his first career double-double with 12 rebounds to lead four players in double figures, as Michigan State led by nearly 30 at one point in the second half on its way to beating Eastern Michigan, 83-59, on Saturday evening at the Breslin Center.
- Junior forward Malik Hall scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds, while freshman guard Max Christie added 13 points, four rebounds and three assists and senior forward Gabe Brown chipped in 10 points and four steals.

- Also returning is Bingham, who had five starts last year and averaged 3.5 points, 3.2 rebounds and 1.4 blocks per game, which ranked among the best in the Big Ten.
- Sophomore guard A.J. Hoggard averaged 2.5 points and 1.8 rebounds in 13.4 minutes and junior forward Julius Marble II started nine games while averaging 4.0 points and 2.1 rebounds.
- Loyola Chicago enters the Battle 4 Atlantis with a 4-0 record following an 80-63 win over the University of Illinois-Chicago on Saturday afternoon.
- The Ramblers opened the season with wins over Coppin State (103-45), Florida Gulf Coast (89-77) and Chicago State (92-56).
- Loyola is averaging 91.0 points per game and has hit 11.8 3-pointers per game (45.2 percent).
- The Ramblers have three players scoring in double figures and 10 players averaging at least 5.0 points and 10.0 minutes per game.
- Leading the way is 6-7 senior forward Ryan Schwieger, who is averaging 14.8 points and 4.3 rebounds per game.

- The game on Wednesday, Nov. 24 against Loyola Chicago will be the 13th meeting all-time between the schools.
- Michigan State leads the head-to-head series, 10-2, including a 6-0 mark at home.
- This will be the first meeting between the teams since Nov. 21, 2014, an 87-52 Spartan win at the Breslin Center.
- The teams have never played on a neutral court.
