Spartans Play Opening Two Rounds of Dual With No. 11 Kent State

OLDSMAR, Florida – The 30th-ranked Michigan State women's golf team played the first two of a three-round dual against No. 11 Kent State on Monday in Oldsmar, Florida. Kent State is 3-over-par 579 (292-287), while MSU is 23-over-par 599 (298-301) after two rounds at East Lake Woodlands South Course.
Yurika Tanida and Kent State's Caley McGinty led all players on the day as both are 3-under-par 141. Tanida shot the lowest score of any player on the day with a first-round 4-under-par 68. She followed it up with a 1-over-par 73.
McGinty was one of five Kent State players to finish the two rounds 5-over-par or better.
Valery Plata is 6-over-par 150 (77-73), followed by Haylin Harris at 8-over-par 152 (75-77). Valentina Rossi is 12-over-par 156 (78-78) and Paz Marfa Sans is 14-over-par 158 (79-79).
The two teams will play the third round on Tuesday beginning at 12:10 p.m.
