Michigan State Announces 14-Game Schedule for 2021 Season

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State's 2020-21 field hockey schedule was announced on Tuesday afternoon by the Big Ten Conference.
The 2021 slate features a 14-match schedule that includes conference-only matches during a span of eight weeks. All Big Ten teams will play a pair of matches in Virginia Beach, Va., six matches at home and six matches on the road.
MSU opens the season in Virginia Beach, Va., playing Maryland on Feb. 26 and Northwestern on Feb. 27.
The Spartans return home to Ralph Young Field for their first match on Sunday, March 7, hosting Indiana.
MSU alternates home and away over the next five weekends, playing two matches against each opponent. The Spartans will play at Rutgers (March 12 & 14), host Penn State (March 19 & 21), travel to Iowa (March 26 & 28), host Michigan (April 2 & 4) and then play at Ohio State (April 9 & 11). MSU closes out the regular season with a single match against Indiana at home on April 15.
The Big Ten Tournament will be held from Tuesday, April 20 to Saturday, April 24 in Iowa City, Iowa.
Match times, television and web streaming information will be announced at a later date. Under current Big Ten guidelines, the general public, beyond student-athletes' families, are not permitted for 2021 MSU field hockey home matches.
