Spartan Women’s Soccer Continues Road Swing at Michigan Friday

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State women's soccer returns to action Friday, March 12 taking on Michigan at Legacy Center in Brighton, Michigan at 11 a.m.
The Spartans are in the midst of a season-long five-game road swing. Michigan State is looking to snap a three-game losing streak after falling to Minnesota, No. 19 Rutgers and No. 13 Penn State. Overall, the Spartans stand 1-3-1 this season with the win coming against Nebraska.
Junior Gia Wahlberg leads the Spartans in scoring with two goals for four points. Senior Danielle Stephan is second in points with three assists. Sophomore Lauren Kozal has been solid in goal for Michigan State this season. She has allowed only eight goals for a 1.53 goals against average, including one shutout.
Michigan earned four points last weekend at Iowa and Nebraska with a tie against Hawkeyes and a double overtime win against Huskers. Danielle Wolfe scored the golden goal for the Wolverines at Nebraska, her first of the season, while Sydney Shepherd tied the game in the second half to send the match to overtime.
The Spartans then take on Indiana on Wednesday, March 17, before ending at Purdue on Sunday, March 21.
