EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan State football team entered its second week of spring practice with a fully padded workout on Tuesday morning on the outdoor turf field behind the Duffy Daugherty Football Building.
Following the fourth practice overall of the spring and the second in full pads, second-year head coach Mel Tucker provided an update on the Spartans.
"Practice is going well – I'm just really, really excited about how we're approaching the meetings and the practices," said Tucker. "The coaching is outstanding. I go from meeting room to meeting room prior to practice, and everyone's on the same page. We're really focusing on technique and fundamentals. It's the aggregation of marginal gains.
"I'm really pleased with what I've seen so far, but we've got a long way to go. We have a lot of work to do, but we're trusting the process and we're getting better."
The Spartans are scheduled to practice on Thursday before the team's first scrimmage of the spring on Saturday.
