Spartan Soccer Faces Wisconsin in Home Finale Wednesday

Michigan State looks to snap three-game losing streak.
EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State men's soccer will play its final regular-season game at DeMartin Stadium on Wednesday, March 31 against Wisconsin. Kick off is set for 2 p.m. and the game will be broadcast on Big Ten Network+.
The Spartans (2-6) look to snap a three-game losing streak, including losses to No. 23 Indiana and No. 10 Michigan. Wisconsin stands 1-6-1, capturing its first win of the season against Ohio State on March. 19.
LAST TIME OUTÂ Â Â
Michigan State men's soccer lost a heartbreaking overtime game to No. 10 Michigan, 2-1, on March 23 Â at DeMartin Stadium. With the loss, the Spartans fall to 2-6 this season, losing three-straight games. Michigan improves to 4-1-1 this season. Michigan State lost both meetings of the season to Michigan by one-goal margins.Â
LOOKING AT THE BADGERSÂ Â Â
Wisconsin holds a 24-13-6 series lead over Michigan State, including a 8-6-3 record at DeMartin Stadium. In the last five games, the Badgers lead the series 2-1-2.
Wisconsin goalkeeper Sven Kleinhans is eighth in the Big Ten in goals against average (2.50), while standing 10th in saves with 12. The Badgers Murat Calkap is eighth in the league in assists with two.
LAST TIME AGAINST WISCONSIN
Michael Miller bent in a corner kick in the 94th minute, as Michigan State men's soccer edged Wisconsin, 2-1, in overtime on Oct. 6, 2019 at McClimon Memorial Soccer Complex. The win was MSU's first win in extra time this season. This was the Spartans' first win in Madison since 2007.
Less than four minutes into overtime, Mutatu earned a corner kick. Miller's corner kick bent past the out-stretched Cowdroy to give Michigan State the extra-time win.

So far this year, only two different players have started every game in junior midfielder Jack Beck and sophomore defender Nick Stone, as junior forward Farai Mutatu did not play against Maryland on March 19 or Michigan n March 23.Â
