
Spartan Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Qualify for NCAA Championships

EAST LANSING , Mich. - For the first time since 2017, both Michigan State men and women's cross country teams have qualified for the NCAA Championships, held on March 15 in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Oklahoma State University will host the championships, at the OSU Cross Country Course located in Stillwater, Oklahoma. The women's race will begin at 12:50 p.m. ET, followed by the men's race at 1:40 p.m. ET. Thirty-one teams were selected to participate in each championship.
Last season, the Spartan women finished sixth in the NCAA Championship in Terre Haute, Indiana. Michigan State tallied 209 points for the sixth-place finish. No. 1 Arkansas (96 points), No. 3 BYU (102 points), No. 2 Stanford (123 points), No. 7 New Mexico (168 points) and No. 6 NC State (190 points) rounded out the top five teams. Senior Jeralyn Poe was the top Michigan State runner, finishing 32nd with a time of 20:40.03.
Morgan Beadlescomb represented the men's team in 2019, finished 23rd with a time of 31:10.09.
When both teams competed in the NCAA Championships in 2017, the women finished 15, while the men were 25th.
