MSU Track & Field’s Beadlescomb Named Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State senior track & field athlete Morgan Beadlescomb was named Big Ten Outdoor Men's Track Athlete of the Week.
Beadlescomb, a native of Algonac, Michigan, earned her first-ever Big Ten track honor after winning the 5000m at the Big Ten Indiana Invite #3 on April 16. In the highly-competitive race, Beadlescomb broke his own school record and shattered the track record, winning with a time of 13:40.44. The previous track record was set by UCLA's Meb Keflezighi in 1997 with a time of 13:44.17.Beadlescomb's previous school record was 13:47.44 at the Raleigh Relays in 2019.
He is the first Spartan to earn Big Ten Outdoor honors since Nick Guerrant was named Field Athlete of the Week on April. 24, 2019. This is his first Indoor or Outdoor Athlete of the Week honor.
The Spartans are back in action on Friday-Saturday, April 23-24 at the Fighting Illini Big Ten Relay in Champaign, Illinois.
