Isaline Alexander Named to Canada U19 Roster

EAST LANSING, Mich. - Michigan State freshman forward Isaline Alexander was named to the Canadian U19 National Team roster that will compete in the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup later this summer.
The FIBA U19 World Cup 2021 is scheduled for August 7-15 in Debrecen, Hungary and fans can catch all the action streaming live on FIBA YouTube.
Alexander, a 6-3 forward, is a native of Keswick, Ontario. This is not her first experience playing with the Canadian National Team. At the 2019 FIBA U16 Americas Championship, she averaged 7.7 points and 8.2 rebounds per game as Team Canada reached the finals.
The 16 teams competing in the FIBA U19 Women's Basketball World Cup 2021 have been divided into four groups (A, B, C and D) of four teams each. Each team will play against all other teams in its own group for a total of three games for each team.
Canada is in Group D and will face Japan on August 7 at 8 a.m. ET. They will then face Czech Republic on August 8 at 5 a.m. ET and Mali on August 10 at 5 a.m. ET.Â
Canada is currently the fourth-ranked team worldwide in the FIBA World Ranking Presented by NIKE.
Alexander joins former Spartan Shay Colley in representing her country this summer. Colley is currently representing Canada in the Tokyo Olympics.
