Austin Kamer Voted to CoSIDA Academic All-America At-Large Second Team

EAST LANSING – Michigan State hockey's Austin Kamer, who graduated this spring, has been voted to the 2020-21 Academic All-America® Division I At-Large Second Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

The at-large program for the CoSIDA Academic All-America® program includes the sports of fencing, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, swimming and diving, tennis, water polo, bowling, crew and field hockey.
Kamer posted a perfect 4.0 GPA through his four-year career as a chemical engineering major. Earlier this year he was named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and Academic All-Big Ten honoree – both for the third time in his career.
The Grand Rapids native was one of eight Spartan student-athletes to earn the President's Award this year, which goes to the graduating senior with the highest GPA.
Kamer played in 92 career games for the Spartans, including seven this past season, and collected a total of eight points (4g, 4a). He earned the Spartans' Most Improved Player award in 2019 and was a National Merit Finalist, as well.
Kamer was elected to the Academic All-District team in July, where he advanced to the Academic All-America ballot.
