Spartan senior winger Jagger Joshua (Dearborn, Mich.) has been named the Big Ten Third Star of the Week. Â
Joshua helped lead his squad to a home sweep of Long Island University last weekend (3-1, 8-4). He contributed four points on the weekend, which included his first career hat trick in Saturday's offensive parade. Joshua had eight points last season (2-6--8), and is halfway to that total in his senior campaign. Â
The senior is grouped with freshmen Karsen Dorwart and Daniel Russell on the Spartans' top line, which combined for 13 points last weekend. Dorwart had four assists in Saturday's game and scored his first collegiate goal on Friday, while Russell had three assists on Saturday and has recorded a point in each of MSU's six games this season. Â
Joshua and the Spartans are off to a 4-2 start on the season, and begin Big Ten play this weekend. MSU has a pair of games at Notre Dame on Friday (7:30 pm) and Saturday (6 pm).
