Four Spartans Earn All-Big Ten Honors on Offense

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Four Michigan State players were recognized by the Big Ten on Wednesday afternoon as the conference announced the All-Big Ten teams and awards on offense.
Fifth-year graduate senior wide receiver Jayden Reed earned second-team honors by the coaches, while sophomore wide receiver Keon Coleman picked up third-team accolades by the media.
Senior left guard J.D. Duplain and senior center Nick Samac garnered honorable mention by both the coaches and media, along with Coleman (coaches) and Reed (media).
Reed and Coleman rank among the top wide receivers in the Big Ten in several statistical categories. Coleman is fifth in receiving yards (798; 66.5 ypg) and touchdown catches (seven) and seventh in receptions (58; 4.8 pg), while Reed is eighth in receptions (55; 5.0 pg), ninth in receiving yards (636; 57.8 ypg) and 10th in touchdown catches (five). Reed also earned third-team all-league plaudits from the media on Tuesday as a return specialist.
Duplain and Samac both started all 12 games in the regular season for the Spartans. Duplain has started a team-best 30 consecutive games at left guard and has 35 career starts overall. Samac, who played a team-high 803 snaps on offense, has 22 career starts.
Redshirt senior running back Elijah Collins was named MSU's Sportsmanship Award honoree.
