Spartan Rowing Wraps up Day One of Racing in New Jersey
3/26/2022 12:04:00 PM | Women's Rowing
East Lansing, Mich. -Â Michigan State rowing competed in its regular-season opener and the team's first race of two in New Jersey this weekend, taking on Harvard-Radcliffe and Yale on Saturday morning at the Cooper River in Cherry Hill.Â
The Spartans sent three boats to the Ivy/Big Ten Double Dual on Saturday, racing the First Varsity Eight, Second Varsity Eight and Varsity Four crews in the regatta.Â
The squad saw eight rowers make their debut for the Green & White, a mix of freshmen and those who did not compete in the abbreviated 2021 season. While the head-to-head results reflected losses for MSU, the crews showed strong potential against two teams appearing in the CRCA rankings, with Harvard receiving votes and Yale sitting at No. 4 among Division I teams.Â
Michigan State is back in action tomorrow at the Doc Hosea Invite hosted by Bucknell, racing again at the Cooper River. Results will be posted on msuspartans.com and on regattaworks.com
