
Ashley Miller Named to NFCA All-Region Second Team

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Following a sensational sophomore season, softball's Ashley Miller was named second team All-Great Lakes region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) on Thursday afternoon. This is the first All-Region selection of Miller's career.

The Leo, Ind. native becomes the 45th NFCA All-Region honoree in program history and the first since 2019.
Miller turned in an impressive sophomore campaign for the Spartans, posting a 1.81 earned run average and 244 strikeouts in 193.1 innings pitched. Her 244 strikeouts rank second all-time for a single season at Michigan State. Opposing teams hit just .208 against Miller in 35 appearances, including 20 complete games and five shutouts.
Miller's season was highlighted by the third perfect game in program history where she struck out 14 batters against Akron on February 13 in Leesburg, Fla. Miller went on to post double-digit strikeouts in 11 of her starts this past season.
The Big Ten was well represented with 38 total All-Region selections, third most among all conferences.
