
Big Ten Conference Announces Four Spartan Football Game Times for 2022 Season

EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Big Ten Conference announced four game times for the 2022 Michigan State football season on Thursday afternoon.
Michigan State's 2022 season opener on Friday, Sept. 2 vs. Western Michigan in Spartan Stadium will start at 7 p.m. The game will be televised on ESPN. This marks the eighth time in the past 12 years that Michigan State will open the season with a Friday night game in East Lansing, and the first under third-year head coach Mel Tucker. It's also the 10th time since 2011 that MSU will open on a Friday night. The Spartans are 14-2 all-time against the Broncos, including a Friday night home win in 2013. MSU also beat WMU in Kalamazoo on Friday night to start the 2015 season.
In Week 2, the Spartans will host Akron at 4 p.m. on Sept. 10; the game will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network. It marks just the third meeting between the two schools and the first since 1914; MSU leads the all-time series, 2-0.
Michigan State's game at Washington on Sept. 17 will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT in Husky Stadium. The Big Ten-Pac-12 showdown will be televised nationally on ABC. MSU will be making just its second trip to Seattle in program history and first since 1970. The Huskies will make the return trip to Spartan Stadium on Sept. 16, 2023.
The Homecoming game vs. Wisconsin scheduled for Oct. 15 in Spartan Stadium will start at either 3:30 p.m. or 4 p.m.
