• No. 8/7 Michigan State heads east for a series with No. 3/3 Boston College.  MSU holds a 16-9-1 edge all-time in the series between these two schools, which dates back to the 1958-59 season.  BC has won four of the last five meetings, with all five settled by two goals or less.  MSU's lone victory in that span is a 3-1 victory in the 2007 National Championship game.  Adam Nightingale coached six of the current Eagle players at the USNTDP.  Â
•  MSU has scored 29 goals, and its 4.83 goals per game is ranked first in the Big Ten and fifth nationally. The Spartans also rank first in the Big Ten (and first nationally) in assists (52) and points (81). MSU's 29 goals through the first six games ties the most since the 1990-91 team started 4-1-1 and scored 29 against UIC (8-3, 9-1), Lake Superior State (4-4, 2-5) and Western Michigan (3-3, 3-2).The year prior, the  1989-90 squad put 39 goals on the board against Lake Superior State (3-4, 4-3), Ferris State (9-3, 2-5) and UIC (6-2, 14-1) and went 4-2 in those contests. Â
 •  The all-sophomore line of Karsen Dorwart centering Isaac Howard and Daniel Russell was the top-producing line last weekend.  Russell had a four-goal weekend, including his first career hat trick in the Thursday matchup.  His five goals leads the Spartans, and he's fourth in points (7) with one power-play goal.  Howard picked up three assists last weekend and now has a 1-5-6 scoring line, good for third on the team in assists and a point-per-game average.  Dorwart is also averaging a point per game, with a 2-4-6 scoring line through six contests.  He shares the team's longest point scoring streak (five games) along with Russell.Â
•  The line of Red Savage centering Joey Larson and Gavin O'Connell is MSU's top-scoring trio overall.  They have a combined 21 points on the year (9-12-21). Savage is tied atop the Spartan scoring table with Nicolas Müller (nine points), Müller had three assists in the most recent game vs. Canisius, including on both of MSU's shorthanded goals.  The duo is tied for third in the Big Ten (23rd nationally) with 1.50 points per game.  Â
• Senior blueliner Nash Nienhuis had a goal and two assists last weekend, and now averages a point per game (2-4-6),tied with his defensive partner Artyom Levshunov for the points lead among the team's defensemen. Levshunov had two goals and an assist last weekend to push his scoring line to 3-3-6 and he leads the squad with a +10. Â
Â
•  Trey Augustine has started five of MSU's six games, owns a 3.00 GAA, .912 save percentage, and has a 4-0 record.  He played the first game against Canisius and made a career-best 42 saves. Luca Di Pasquo earned the win in his first collegiate start, making 30 stops in a 4-3 win over Canisius.  He made his collegiate debut in the first game at Air Force in relief of Augustine, and made 13 saves and allowed two goals over the final two periods.  Â
