Augustine Earns First Star From B1G

For the second time in a month, Michigan State goaltender Trey Augustine (South Lyon, Mich.) has been named the Big Ten First Star of the Week.
Augustine backstopped MSU to a home sweep of No. 20/20 Notre Dame last weekend, stopping 66 of 69 shots against in the two games He owns a .916 save percentage and 2.97 GAA overall, and a .929 save percentage and 2.55 GAA in Big Ten games, where he has backstopped MSU to a 7-1-2 record and sole possession of first place as the pre-holiday portion of the schedule concludes.
Augustine has not made less than 30 saves in a Big Ten contest this season, and his 534 total saves ranks fourth nationally and second in the Big Ten. In 17 games, he has played 990:06, which ranks seventh among all netminders in the country.
Augustine also was the Big Ten First Star of the Week on Nov. 21 after a home sweep of then-No. 1 Wisconsin.
The freshman begins World Junior Championship selection camp on Thursday in Ann Arbor, and looks to make Team USA for the Championships in Sweden Dec. 26-January 5.
