EAST LANSING, Mich. – Following the 2023 NFL Draft, several former Spartans have signed as undrafted free agents.
Safety Kendell Brooks and defensive tackle Jacob Slade signed with the Arizona Cardinals, safety Xavier Henderson signed with the Washington Commanders, Jarrett Horst signed with the Miami Dolphins and linebacker Ben VanSumeren signed with the Philadelphia Eagles.
In addition, offensive guard Matt Carrick (Green Bay) and cornerback Ronald Williams II earned rookie mini-camp invitations.
Three Spartans were selected in the 2023 NFL Draft: wide receiver Jayden Reed (Green Bay Packers, second round, No. 50 overall), punter Bryce Baringer (New England Patriots, sixth round, No. 192 overall) and cornerback Ameer Speed (New England Patriots, sixth round, No. 214 overall). Since the common NFL Draft era began in 1967, MSU has had at least one player selected in 56 of the 57 drafts. Seven Spartans have been drafted in the past two years under head coach Mel Tucker.

Three Spartans were selected in the 2023 NFL Draft: wide receiver Jayden Reed (Green Bay Packers, second round, No. 50 overall), punter Bryce Baringer (New England Patriots, sixth round, No. 192 overall) and cornerback Ameer Speed (New England Patriots, sixth round, No. 214 overall). Since the common NFL Draft era began in 1967, MSU has had at least one player selected in 56 of the 57 drafts. Seven Spartans have been drafted in the past two years under head coach Mel Tucker.
