Field Hockey Set to Open with Three Exhibitions Matches at Home This Week

East Lansing, MI - Michigan State Field Hockey will get an early glimpse of two of their Big Ten opponents when they play Northwestern and Michigan to kick off the season. The Spartans finish their three exhibition games against in-state rival, Central Michigan.
The Spartans play Northwestern on Tuesday, Aug. 15th at 1 p.m., Michigan on Friday, Aug. 18th at 5 p.m., and Central Michigan on Sunday, Aug. 20th at 1 p.m.
"We are looking forward to being tested before our opener," said head coach Helen Knull. "It allows us to try different structures, highlight our strengths and areas of improvements."
Knull comments on the upcoming season, "We made great progress in the off-season – on and off the field – this is a very tight knit group and our new Spartans have integrated quickly, bringing new energy and talent."
The team opens the regular season on the road facing Boston University, Friday, Aug. 25th at 12 p.m.
