Spartans Tied for Sixth Place at Landfall Tradition

East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State's women's golf team shot a 3-over par 291 in the first round and is tied for sixth place among 17 teams at The Landfall Tradition, being played at the Country Club of Landfall's Pete Dye Course in Wilmington, N.C.
The three-day, 54-hole tournament is being played on the par-72, 6,178-yard rolling layout along the scenic Intracoastal Waterway near Wrightsville Beach in North Carolina. The tournament continues on Saturday, with teams teeing off at 8:30 a.m.
Florida State and Duke are tied for first place at 9-under par 279, with North Carolina third at 8-under par 280, Ole Miss is in fourth place (6-under par 282) and Clemson rounds out the top-five teams at 1-under par 287.
The Spartans are tied with NC State in sixth place at 3-over par 291.
First Round Results
Senior Katie Lu was the top finisher for the Spartans, standing in a tie for ninth place at 2-under par 70.
Junior Paula Balanzategui is tied for 22nd place at even-par 72, while junior Taylor Kehoe is tied for 45th place at 2-over par 74 and senior Brooke Biermann is tied for 52nd place at 3-over par 75.
Freshman Catalina Monroy is tied for 83rd place at 8-over par 80 and sophomore Ana Sofia Murcia, playing as an individual, is tied for 45th place at 2-over par 74.
Michigan State tees off at 8:30 a.m. on the first hole, playing alongside Maryland and UCF.
