
Jim Nicholson Selected to Polynesian Football Hall of Fame

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Former Michigan State offensive tackle Jim Nicholson has been selected to the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame Class of 2025.
Nicholson was a three-year letterwinner (1970-72) for the Spartans under Hall of Fame Coach Duffy Daugherty. He earned second-team All-Big Ten honors from the coaches his senior season and played in the Blue-Gray All-Star Game and the Hula Bowl before getting selected in the ninth round (No. 219 overall) of the 1973 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams. He was traded to the Chiefs in 1974 and played six years (1974-79) and 72 games at right tackle in Kansas City, including 62 starts.
Nicholson, who is from Honolulu, Hawai'i, had a standout prep career at St. Louis High School prior to attending Michigan State.

The Class of 2025 will be honored during the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame Enshrinement Weekend on Jan. 17-19, 2025. The events will include the Polynesian Bowl, the Enshrinement Ceremony, and the Celebration Dinner.
Nicholson joins former Spartans Bob Apisa, Domata Peko and Charlie Wedemeyer as members of the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame.
About the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame: The Polynesian Football Hall of Fame honors Polynesia's greatest players, coaches, and contributors. Its permanent home is located at the Polynesian Cultural Center and was established in 2013 by Super Bowl Champions Jesse Sapolu and Ma'a Tanuvasa. Other board members include Troy Polamalu, Vai Sikahema, June Jones and Reno Mahe. There are currently 47 inductees.
