Six Spartans to Compete in Olympic Trials

Five to compete in U.S. trials, while Kate Stewart-Barnett will represent Canada.
Tori Franklin | Chicago, Ill.
Tori Franklin - Triple Jump
- Franklin is looking to make her second Olympic Team after finishing 25th in the 2020 Tokyo Games.
- Earned a bronze medal in the 2022 World Championships.
- Holds the Michigan State indoor (13.56m (44-6) - 2014) and outdoor (13.41m (44-0) - 2013) school records in the triple jump.
- Three-time Big Ten Champion
Morgan Beadlescomb - 5000m
- Competing in his second U.S. Olympic Trials.
- Beadlescomb earned USATF Athlete of the Week award honors in December of 2023 after winning the Manchester Road Race.
- Three-time Big Ten Champion and seven-time track & field All-American.
- Holds the Michigan State indoor (13:29.96 - 2021) and outdoor (13:17.16 - 2022) school records in the 5000m.
Heath Baldwin | Kalamazoo, Mich.
Heath Baldwin - Decathlon
- Baldwin is competing in his first U.S. Olympic Trials.
- Big Ten Champion in the heptathlon in 2023.
- Holds the Michigan State record in the heptathlon (6238 - 2024) and decathlon (8,470 - 2024)
- Runner up at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Championships in the heptathlon.
Ryan Talbot | Alto, Mich.
Ryan Talbot - Decathlon
- Talbot is competing in his first U.S. Olympic Trials.
- Big Ten Champion in the decathlon in 2022 and 2024.
- Three-time outdoor All-American in the decathlon.
Trevor Stephenson | Caledonia, Mich.
Trevor Stephenson - Pole Vault
- Stephenson is competing in his first U.S. Olympic Trials.
- Big Ten Champion in the outdoor pole vault in 2023.
- Two-time All-American in indoor and three-time All-American in outdoor.
- Holds the Michigan State record in the pole vault indoor (5.66m (18-6 3/4) - 2023) and outdoor (5.55m (18-2 1/2) - 2023).
Kate Stewart-Barnett | New Westminster, B.C.
Kate Stewart-Barnett - 3000m Steeplechase
- Stewart-Barnett is competing in her first Canadian Olympic Trials.
- Big Ten Champion in the 3000m steeplechase in 2023.
