GAME NOTES
• Michigan State wore its green jerseys and pants for the road game at Boston College, as Saturday night was BC's 11th-annual Red Bandanna game and the Eagles wore special tribute white jerseys with red bandanna print on their numbers.

SERIES
• Saturday was the first meeting between Michigan State and Boston College since 2007, and the seventh meeting all-time between the Spartans and Eagles, including the fourth in Boston. Boston College leads the overall series, 5-1-1.

OFFENSE
• MSU scored on its opening drive for the third straight game and have done so in three of the four games . . . it was Michigan State's first opening drive score with a field goal, capping the opening drive with Jonathan Kim's 41-yard field goal in the first quarter . . . the Spartans scored a TD on their opening drive in the Maryland and Prairie View A&M games.

• The Spartans' 18-play, 89-yard drive in 9:24 were all season-longs . . . MSU's previous longest drive by plays was 14 last week vs. Prairie View A&M, while the 89 yards betters the previous longest yards of 84 yards done twice, first vs. Maryland and again last week vs. PVAMU, and the 9:24 is longest time, topping previous longest of 7:04 also set last week vs. PVAMU.

• Sophomore quarterback Aidan Chiles was 17-of-35 passing for 241 yards and added a career-high 57 rushing yards in a career-high tying nine rushing attempts.

• Chiles scored his third rushing TD of the season with his 1-yard plunge in the second quarter . . . Chiles has scored a rushing TD in each of the last two games and in three of the four games this season, also scoring last week against Prairie View A&M and in the season opener vs. Florida Atlantic . . . the 1-yard plunge was Chiles' shortest rushing TD of the season, as he scored from 11 yards out in the FAU game and a 6-yard scamper against PVAMU . . . Chiles now has six career rushing TDs.

• Chiles' 22-yard scamper for a first down in the second quarter, evading several BC tacklers along the way, was the longest of his MSU career, and second-longest of his collegiate career, behind a 23-yard run last season while he was at Oregon State, also coming on the road, on Nov. 4, 2023, at Colorado.

• Senior wide receiver Montorie Foster Jr. snared his first catch of the night with a 40-yard pass from Chiles in the second quarter, setting up MSU's first TD of the game . . . the reception extended Foster's streak of at least one catch in 17 straight games dating back to 2022 . . . Foster has at least one reception in 27 of his last 39 games played.

• Foster finished with a season-high 87 yards on four catches, as he has snared three or more receptions in all four games this season.
• The 87 yards Saturday night gives Foster 1,038 career receiving yards, becoming the 49th Spartan receiver to reach the 1,000 career yards plateau.

• Junior tight end Jack Velling had a career-high six catches for 77 yards, his MSU career-best and the second-most of his career overall . . . the six catches betters his previous career-high last season while at Oregon State of five receptions vs. Arizona (10/28/23), while the 77 yards is just shy of his career-best 83 yards vs. UCLA (10/14/23) . . . Velling's career-best of six catches matched his season total of six receptions through three games coming into Saturday's game, bettering his previous season-high of three catches on Sept. 7 at Maryland.

• Graduate running back Kay'ron Lynch-Adams matched his season-high rushing attempts for the second game in a row with 15 carries for 61 yards . . . Saturday was Lynch-Adams' third game as a Spartan with 50 or more yards after 101 yards in the season-opener vs. Florida Atlantic and 63 yards last week vs. Prairie View A&M.

DEFENSE
• MSU's defense logged 4.0 sacks in the game, its third game with 3.0 sacks or more this season . . . Saturday's 4.0 sacks was the Spartans' second-most this season behind the season-high 7.0 sacks in the season-opener vs. Florida Atlantic (8/30/24).

• Graduate defensive lineman Khris Bogle finished with a team-high tying six tackles, including 0.5 tackle for loss on 0.5 sack . . . the six stops is also a season-best for Bogle, as well as tying his career-high for the third time in his career and second time at MSU, matching six stops from the 2022 season vs. Washington (9/17/22) and also with six tackles vs. South Florida (9/11/21) while at Florida  . . . Bogle now has at least 0.5 TFL in each of the four games this season.

• Junior defensive back Malik Spencer shared team-leading honors with Bogle with six stops, a new season-high for Spencer . . . additionally, Spencer recorded his first career forced fumble, coming on the goal line in the fourth quarter.

• Redshirt junior defensive back Charles Brantley registered a pass break-up for his fourth game in a row and in five of his last seven games played dating back to 2023 . . . Brantley now has six passes defended on the season with four PBUs and two interceptions.

• Graduate linebacker Cal Haladay logged his fourth career forced fumble and first of the season with the strip in the first quarter, tying his career-high for the fourth time . . . Haladay's last forced fumble came vs. Akron (9/10/22).

• Senior linebacker Jordan Turner notched a tackle for loss for the fourth time this season, as he has had at least 1.0 TFL in each of the four games this season

SPECIAL TEAMS
• Ray Guy Award Watch List member redshirt sophomore punter Ryan Eckley boomed a 50-yard punt on his first punt of the night, as he now has at least one 50-yard punt in his last 10 games, as part of 11 of last 13, and 12 of the last 14 games . . . Eckley now has 30 career 50+ yard punts, including six this season through four games.

• Graduate placekicker Jonathan Kim has now made at least one field goal in the last three games with his 41-yard upright split in MSU's opening possession . . . Kim has now registered at least one made field goal in 12 of his 16 total games as a Spartan (2023-24).

• Kim finished with a career-best four field goals, bettering his previous career-high of three field goals last season at Iowa (9/30/23), while his four FG attempts Saturday matches his career-best from that Iowa game.

• Kim split the uprights again late in the first half from 26-yards out, marking his third multi-FG game this season, going 2-for-2 against both Maryland and Prairie View A&M . . . the field goal with 20 seconds left in the first half was Kim's second upright split in the waning seconds of the first half, hitting a 50-yard field goal as time expired in the first half at Maryland, and his third in the waning second of any half, adding a 37-yarder with :01 left in the game at Maryland.

• The 51-yard field goal in the third quarter was Kim's second field goal of 50+ yards this season, joining the 50-yarder at Maryland and was the sixth of his career.
