
Vansaghi Ranked 36th in NHL Central Scouting Ratings

East Lansing, Mich. --Â Michigan State freshman Shane Vansaghi (St. Louis, Mo.) appears at No. 36 among North American skaters in the NHL Central Scouting Mid-Term Rankings, which was announced on Tuesday (Jan. 14).Â

Vansaghi, one of the youngest players in college hockey this season, is an October 2006 birth year, making him draft eligible for the first time in the 2025 NHL Draft, which will be held in June in Los Angeles. A product of the US National Team Development Program, Vansaghi is the sixth-highest rated prospect among current US collegiate players.  He has skated in all 21 games for MSU this season, with a pair of goals and nine assists.Â

Vansaghi is a part of an MSU team that is ranked No. 1 in the country, sits atop the Big Ten, and rides a nine-game unbeaten streak into a weekend series with No. 10 Michigan. Â The Spartans are 18-2-2 overall on the year.Â
