Here's a look at the week ahead (October 14-20) for Michigan State Athletics:
Women's Soccer
With two weeks left in the regular season, Michigan State is home for a pair of matches this week. Thursday, MSU hosts Indiana at DeMartin Stadium at 7 p.m. Sunday, the Spartans take on Illinois. These are the last two home games of the regular season for Michigan State.
Volleyball
For the second straight weekend, Michigan State is at home and looking to build on the momentum of a 2-0 week. Friday, the Spartans will host No. 1 Nebraska at 7 p.m. Sunday, MSU hosts Maryland at 1 p.m. Last Sunday, MSU defeated No. 20 Indiana, marking MSU's first sweep of a ranked opponent since 2017.
Hockey
In just the second week of its season, No. 3/4 Michigan State is preparing to square off in one of the top non-conference series of the college hockey season. The Spartans will travel to No. 1 Boston University for a Friday-Saturday set. Friday's game will be nationally televised on ESPN2.
Men's Soccer
The Spartans start the stretch run of the season with a pair of Big Ten matches. Friday, Michigan State is at Wisconsin. MSU then returns home to host UCLA Monday at 8 p.m. on Big Ten Network. With four conference games remaining, eight teams in the Big Ten have won between two and four games.
Football
Michigan State hits the road for the third time in conference play, traveling to Indiana to play the No. 3 Hoosiers. The two teams will play for the Old Brass Spittoon, the trophy which has been awarded to the game's winner since 1950. The game will be streamed on Peacock.
Men's and Women's Golf
The men's and women's golf teams continue play at the St. Andrews Links Collegiate, a four-team tournament at the home of golf, through Wednesday. Tuesday, the teams will play their second round at the Jubilee Course. Wednesday, play will be held at the historic Old Course. This is the last competition of the fall for the Spartans.
Men's and Women's Cross Country
The ranked men's (#16) and women's (#24) cross country teams will get their final major tune-up for the postseason as they compete in the Nuttycombe Invitational Friday in Madison, Wisconsin. The event will feature several of the nation's top programs.
Field Hockey
Field hockey is at home for a non-conference and a Big Ten contest this week. Tuesday, the Spartans face Ball State at 1 p.m. Sunday, MSU steps back into conference action, hosting Ohio State at 1 p.m.
Men's Tennis
Members of the men's tennis team will compete at the ITA Regional Championships beginning Thursday in Chicago, Illinois. This is the second qualifying tournament for the 2025 NCAA Individual Championships, with 13 regional tournaments being hosted throughout the country.
Women's Tennis
Members of the women's tennis team will compete at the ITA Regional Championships beginning Thursday in Champaign, Illinois. This is the second qualifying tournament for the 2025 NCAA Individual Championships, with 13 regional tournaments being hosted throughout the country.
